The construction industry is the second largest industry in India and it accounts for about 11% of India as GDP. Construction sector in India will remain buoyant due to increased demand from real estate and infrastructure projects. India’s real estate market required USD 650 Billion for urban infrastructure over the next 20 years and is expected to reach a market size of USD 180 Billion by 2020 and is expected to be USD 1 Trillion by 2025. India will be the 3rd largest construction market globally by 2030 contributing to 15% GDP.

Building Insulation & Roofing  Industry:

Building Insulation: Residential and commercial sectors accounts for 22% and 9% of the total electricity consumption in India. With rapid on-going urbanization and economic development in the country, it has been estimated that India would build 700-900 million square metre floor space per year for residential and commercial spaces in the next 20 years or so, leading to an extensive demand for electricity in the coming years. The Ministry of Power, The Bureau of Energy Efficiency and many state government institutions have been making extensive efforts to promote energy efficiency in buildings. As a result of these, in recent years, a number of enlightened building owners and developers in public and private sectors have adopted several energy-efficiency measures to reduce energy intensiveness of their buildings. Buildings can be designed to ensure that occupants receive thermal and visual com-forts consuming minimal energy. Energy-efficiency measures can effectively be incorporated by adopting an integrated approach to the design of the building, starting from its early design phase. Such an approach takes into account the local climate and balances all aspects of energy use in a building, such as lighting, space conditioning and ventilation.

Waterproofing: chemicals are a specific set of products that protect the structural integrity of buildings from water penetration. Excess water penetration in buildings can shorten theirlife span, thus leading to electrical, metal and health hazards. Waterproofing chemicals increase the shelf life of concretes and offer durability to infrastructures when applied to the exterior of a foundation system. These functions lower the maintenance cost of buildings. Rise in construction cost and raw material are the driving factors for the waterproofing industry.

Roofing: The growing domestic construction industry and the booming industrial sector are together seen as the major driving forces behind the increased demand for roofing products in India. The increased construction in urban areas and infrastructure development activities like construction and renovation of airports, metro rails, SEZs, Industrial cities and IT Parks have kick-started the demand for modern, efficient roofing systems. The roofing Industry is a dynamic industry, with new innovations, materials and tools cropping up on a regular basis. With the rising importance of roofing design and the adoption of “green” products, the sector is all geared up to go through the roof in the coming decades.

To support India’s journey towards Building Insulation & Roofing Industry, we are  organising WORLD OF INSULATION & ROOFING a dedicated conference on developing best practice in building design and innovation in Insulation & Roofing Industry. The agenda for the conference has been very carefully drafted by our knowledge partners keeping in mind the challenges Indian Industry is facing. This transfer of learning will be delivered by global experts with proven successful case studies.

The conference will be attended by Govt. Officials, India’s Top Architects, Builders, Industrial Experts, Top Industrial Manufacturers, Contractors, Civil Engineers and many more. The Conference is limited to the entry only on Invitation basis to maintain the quality of the conference and the delegates invited.

The future of building insulation & roofing engineering is about creating a balance with technology and viable design.

WORLD OF INSULATION & ROOFING, through its editions globally, endeavours to provide the construction industry and stakeholders of the building envelope value chain a platform to discuss, debate and deliberate upon the new dimensions, innovations and unconventional trends of the industry. Topics which will be laid across the table will include vision on effective building insulation and roofing project management, maximising building envelope potential and modern challenges amongst others. It also doubles up as an opportunity to develop new relationships and broadening business networks.
